OREGON IEEE CONSULTANTS' NETWORK MEETING OF JULY 22, 2004. SUMMARY Location: The IEEE Oregon Consultants' Network, (ORCNET) met on July 22, 2004, at the Beaverton IHOP restaurant, at the intersection of Walker Road and 158th Avenue. In attendance: Members Present at the meeting were: Henri B. Joyaux (Activities Director), Brian B. Conley, (Treasurer), Keith Lofstrom (Webmaster), Duke Aguiar (Member), and Patrick Barrett (Past Chair). Non-Members present: Mr. Tim Wescott. Guests present: Ms. Tricia Lee, EE, with National Instruments, our speaker for the evening. Ms. Lee, a local Field Sales Engineer with National Instruments, introduced National Instruments' hardware and software products with a brief history of their evolution. In addition to describing the products' broad capabilities, she presented actual process control applications in the Portland area and discussed the various operating systems for which NI's software is available. She also noted that opportunities exist for consultants interested in applying National Instruments' products to solve industrial process control problems. Note: This was an ORCNET evening technical presentation rather than a formal business meeting, so although an attendance roster was maintained, "Meeting Minutes" were neither required nor produced.
